International STEM camps in Kazakhstan promote exchange on science and innovation

On June 8 and 9 in Öskemen and on June 11 and 12 in Almaty, international STEM camps will be held to inspire young people for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The events bring together pupils, students, young researchers and parents and create space for international exchange and practical insights into modern future fields.
The program is aimed at different target groups:
- Öskemen site: 8 & 9.06.
- Location Almaty: 11. & 12.06.
June 8 & 11 - Program for students and parents
June 9 & 12 - Program for students and young scientists
The focus is on current developments and career prospects in the fields of
- Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence
- Engineering sciences and robotics
- Chemistry, biotechnology and sustainable technologies
- Other future-oriented STEM disciplines
Participants will also receive information on study and research opportunities in Germany and Kazakhstan. The universities of the UA Ruhr are represented:
- Ruhr University Bochum
- TU Dortmund University
- University of Duisburg-Essen
as well as the East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) and the German-Kazakh University in Almaty (DKU).
The STEM Camp combines information offerings with interactive formats. Among other things, there are plans for
- Workshops by students and scientists from UA Ruhr
- practice-oriented team tasks and STEM activities
- Information on applying, studying and career paths
- Opportunities for international networking and exchange
The STEM Camp aims to support young people in getting to know new academic and professional perspectives in an international environment and developing an interest in future technologies.
